Barbara Brinton, LCSW
“Barb” is originally from Virginia but has lived in beautiful North Idaho for 18 years. She is widowed and has 3 children. She has many years of experience in working with families and individuals, including children, adolescents, and adults. She enjoys variety in the types of clients and the issues she works with, and in how she works with them. While she uses an integrative therapy approach which includes CBT, elements of DBT, Narrative therapy techniques, etc. for virtually all age groups, she is also a registered play therapist who uses the power of play as a medium to address the issues her young clients present with, since play is a child’s work and their means of communicating with and understanding the world around them. She says that you can never take her anywhere without her buying more toys to add to her ever-increasing collection of play therapy tools 😊. She is also fully trained as an EMDR therapist and uses this invaluable evidenced-based tool to address the traumas and other issues her clients may present with. She looks forward to meeting you.
